Integrated Tactical Planning

In this one-day course, Oliver Wight will cover the processes required to ensure a successful cross-functional approach for managing detailed-level planning and execution in the short term, tactical planning horizon. Despite most organizations putting considerable effort and energy into executing their plans, many still struggle with poor customer service, high costs, high inventories, and frustrated employees. Integrated Tactical Planning is all about getting a small quorum of the right people to manage the short-term horizon of the organization’s plans, focusing on weekly and daily planning processes, and ensuring alignment back to the Integrated Business plans.

Reduces the potential for the Executive, and other senior managers, being dragged into the day to day, releasing them to spend more time on the longer-term and strategic horizon. Puts mechanisms in place to empower people to make decisions and know when and how to escalate issues. Maintain responsiveness, but not at the cost of being reactive.

This course is the final, and sometimes all important piece, in joining the tactical to the strategic, in an Oliver Wight Integrated Business Planning process. It is valuable to anyone who is operating inside their company’s commitment zone, i.e. where we have purchased finished goods and materials, and have geared up to make, supply, ship, store, and promise products to customers.
